Small Charity Week is back—and it’s all about celebrating the passion, dedication, and impact of small charities across the UK and around the world.
Delivered by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) this annual campaign puts small charities in the spotlight—recognising their vital contributions to communities and championing the people who make it all happen.
Throughout the week, the focus isn’t just on celebration—it’s also about empowerment. Small Charity Week offers a boost to the sector by improving visibility, strengthening resilience, and increasing representation. It’s about giving small charities the tools, confidence, and connections they need to thrive long term.
The campaign also encourages wider public support, shares inspiring stories with new audiences, and promotes meaningful political engagement at both local and national levels.
So, what exactly is a “small charity”? These are voluntary organisations with a charitable or social mission and an annual income under £1 million. That includes registered charities, CICs, community groups, and others driving grassroots change.
This year, NCVO is opening up its members-only content for the week and hosting a range of valuable events—covering strategy, evaluation, HR, people management, and digital technology. It’s a fantastic opportunity for organisations to learn, connect, and grow.
